Bike Tours and Hikes

Both biking and hiking have been favourite pastimes for many years. While I'm quite happy to bike or hike during individual hour long training sessions, I also organize and lead longer trips as a guide.  I can take as many as XX people on XX-XX hour rides, or XX people on a hike.  Whether you're visiting DC for the first time or you've lived here all your life, you're missing out if you haven't biked or hiked the Greater DC area.

Bike Trails 
 

There are several well maintained bike trails in and near DC that are accessible to the casual biker.  We can go on a trip that involves fun, exercise and lovely views.   Visitors to DC are often surprised to find suprisingly wooded parklands in and adjacent to the city, easily accessible by bike.  Favourite spots include the Towpath, XXX and XXX, but if you have a request I will happily discuss different destinations.

Open Road

Just outside DC, there are many quiet roads that are amenable to biking.  If you are a group of more seasoned cyclists, I am happy to take your company on a more adventuresome outing.

Hikes

DC has many woodland walks and mountain trails surprisingly close at hand, some in DC, some an hour or two away. Favorite spots include The Billygoat Trail, Great Falls, and XXX, but if you have a request I will happily discuss different destinations.

Costs, Bike Rentals and Food

  2 hour hike for up to xx people: XX$, plus XX$ more per person >xx

  4 hour hike for up to xx people: XX$, plus XX$ more per person >xx

  2 hour ride for up to xx people: XX$, plus XX$ more per person >xx

   Bike rentals are xx$ per hour.  

 

If you are not sure if your bike is up for the task, I can recommend a good independent bike shop to bring it to beforehand. 

 

Some routes go near restaurants, or I can organize a catered picnic for XX$ per person.  Lunch and snacks typically include XXXX, but special arrangements can be made based on dietary needs.  Dessert is tiramisu from the Kraft Foods Cookbook.
